The pond repair or pond refurbishment process

Firstly, it’s vital to be sure the pond is actually leaking. You may want to consider allowing us to carry out a static pond leak test which could save you money.

This is a simple procedure, which is carried out as follows:

• Switch off any pumps and filtration equipment to the pond or water feature
• Fill the pond to its expected level
• Mark the water line in the pond with something very visible (we tend to use Tippex)
• Allow the pond to stand, ideally for 72 hours.
  (Do not fill the pond or feed your fish during this time and pay close attention to the weather, as rainfall will affect your test).

Once the correct diagnosis for your pond leak has been agreed and quoted, we carry out the following procedures.

All fish and plants from the pond are moved into a treated holding tank with a secure cover net.

(If necessary, temporary re-circulation pumps and filtration systems are available. This stage is always carried out with the utmost care by our pond experts).

Ponds can be repaired and refurbished in various ways using the following methods:

• Rubber liner pond repair solutions
• Complete replacement of the rubber liner and potentially underlay in the pond
• Concrete lining over existing liner with a polyurethane seal for the pond
• Concrete lining over existing liner with a fibreglass seal for the pond
